Hmmm....well, I was living in South Joy-zee at the time - maybe it was a regional rap out of NYC or Philly. One of the rappers was a husky, buzz-cut, red-headed white kid in horn-rim glasses who carried a cane.......? I know it was 1989 'cuz I was in Army AIT when the video was bein' played all the time. I'm pretty sure MTV played this video though - it was popular at the same time Keith Sweat's "Joy & Pain" was huge .

I'm pretty sure you must be talking about the song "Brooklyn Queens". It was by the white rap duo 3rd Bass (AKA Pete Nice & MC Search) who also made the hilarious "The Gas Face".
Both songs appear on their debut album "The Cactus Album" (Def Jam, 1989).

K-Bee, thanks ! I did a Google search on 3rd Bass and found a pic of 'em. Yep ! Demz da boy-eez ! Now, I'm gonna hit ebay and see if I can scrounge up a copy of the CD . If you've never heard "Brooklyn Queens"...well, it's late 80s rap at its best. Thanks, again K-Bee  !

I was gonna say McSerch is the one with glasses and Pete was the one with the cane.

I recently saw something on VH1 and they interviewed McSerch. Supposedly he has a feud going with some rapper right now. I forget ;(
