allright y'all - let's see how many real experts we have out there.
This quiz is not for the wannabes.

1) On the Roy Ayers track "Poo Poo La la" (1984), he introduced a new female vocalist to the world. She was later to have a rather succesful solo career at Atlantic Records starting in 1986. What's her name??

2) On the two 1985 hits by BB & Q Band "Genie" and "Dreamer" the lead vocalist was never credited. He later made a solo album for Atlantic in 1986. Who was he?

3) What was the first song Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis ever got the writer/producer credits for?

4) In the early 80's writer/producer Paul Laurence formed one of the most succesful production companies in 80's R&B (affiliated with Capitol records).
What was the name of that company?
Name at least two reording artists who was part of it (U know them, believe me)

5) What's the family connection between 70's soul group The O'Jays and 80's R&B trio Levert?

I know these questions are not that easy but give it a shot we'll se how you all do:)

Have Fun!:D

Can't figure out who'd I like to have behind my record, Quincy Jones or Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis. Damn, tuff dilemna.

I know one of their first biggest hits was 'Human' by Human League. My answer: 'Just Be Good To Me' by the SOS Band?

Ah...close timster. very close. You got the group right but it wasn't "Just Be Good To Me". Think back a few more years.

#5 Eddie Levert from the O'Jays and Gerald Levert from Levert are Father and Son!!!

Great Quiz K-Bee!!! Good to see someone else who loves R&B from the 80s!

yes:)
two down...three to go. Prefab, you haven given the correct answers to both #3 & #5.

Jam & Lewis wrote and produced "Tell Me If You Still Care" while they were still in the Flyte Tyme band (led by Prince).

Clues....well let's see

Her debut album was entitled "Come Share My Love" and was largely produced by Lemel Humes.

She's done a few duets with Gerald Levert and also released a Billie holliday tribute album in the early 90s.

With the right promotion she really should have had a career like, say, Whitney Houston. Unfortunatley that never happened but she enjoyed some succes among soul fans.

She appeared in both the "Poetic Justice" and "Malcolm X" movies
