I relly had no idea that Yvonne Ellimann hailed from Hawaii. Good to see she's still around.
I was never a big fan of "If I Can't Have You" but nevertheless many consider it a true classic on par with, say, "Ain't No Stopping Us Now"
Thanks 4 the info, Timster. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Maui.

I thought that song was one of the best Disoc had to offer but then I loved the whole of the "Saturday Night fever" soundtrack. Having said that, the best dance music of that era (imho) was coming out of the Salsoul Label, with artists like Loleatta Holloway et al.

You took the words out of my mouth prefab:D Disco was all about labels back then (at least in retrospect) . Labels like Salsoul, TK, Philadelphia International and in the early 80's releases from West End & Prelude really pushed dance music forward.
Backing up the salsoul artists was of course The Salsoul Orchestra and vibesman/arranger Vince Montana.
Real music for real people!!!

I just read this she is finally reviving her career because of her recent divorce. Something about her husband being to possesive and not wanting her to be in the spotlight. Good for her! As we know, alot of artists make their 'dough' touring.
