Back by popular demand (prefab;) :D )
here's something new to get your minds goin'

1) Before Anita Baker landed her deal with Beverly Glenn records and recorded her 1983 debut "The Songstress", she was in another band. They made an album in 1979 but what is the name of that band?

2) US group The Dazz Band had many hits in the early 80s incl. "Let It Whip" (1982) and "Let it All Blow" (1985). However they recorded there 20th Century fox records debut under a different name. What name was it?

3)
Legendary 70s singer Barry White has a godson who's also an artist in his own right. He released two albums in the late 80s early 90s for Atlantic and has been a very profilic producer as well, working for Rodney Franklin and Kool & The Gang.
Who is he?

4) these guys really have turned poppy with their production work for the Backstreet Boys lately, but they were instrumental in creating a lot of the mid 80s r&b/freestyle/hip-hop sound. The had a few hits of their own, but they are more known for the stuff they did for Lisa Lisa, Cheryl *Pepsii* Riley, James Brown and even old poet rocker Bob Dylan. Who are they?

and a fairly easy one to finish it off:

5) Name the band UK singer Lisa Stansfield was part of before she went to work with Coldcut in 1990 (leading to a succesful solo career)

Good luck :)

Great quiz K-Bee!

Question 2 troubled me a bit. Question 1, 3 & 4 was only a matter of a little "soul"-searching ;)

But, so if not to spoil the quiz for everybody else, I will only give the answers to questions 1 & 2. For questions 3 & 4 I will give you the initials of the artists:

1) Anita Baker was member of the band CHAPTER 8
2) Dazz Band recorded there first album as KINSMAN DAZZ
3) CB (great artist, great albums)
4) FF (you all know'em)

Happy hunting!!

thanks for not giving out the answers to #3 & 4. U seem to know how these quiz questions came about. (probs go out to writer Ralph Tee....again :D  )

right! dazz definetely means danceable jazz. I think the dazz band band were probably inspired by the infamous "dazz" track by Brick form way back in '76.
