Yes! it's back. This is the third part of my ongoing R&B Quizzes
(will it never end:D )

here goes:

1) British group Simpley Red got their breakthrough with hit with "Money's Too Tight To Mention" in 1985. However it was actually a cover song and it was originally done by this R&B family outfit a few years before. Who were they?

2) "Whenever You Need Somebody" was a major single for Rick Astley in 1987, but one year before a female vocalist reached the lower end of the charts with the same song. What was her name?

3) "The Last Dragon" was the one and only movie ever affiliated with the Motown label. Who played the female lead and what was the name for her musical group?

4) this four time grammy winner had a surprise R&B hit in 1986 with "Set Fire To Me" but he his mostly known for his contribution to the world of Latin music. What's his name?

5) After leaving Earth Wind & Fire in 1984, Maurice White tried his hands at solo stardom leading to one self titled album for CBS in 1985. The minor hit single from that album was a cover of a very well known soul classic. The title was also the name of a hit movie same year. What's the title of the song??

That about does it for know.
Have fun!!

Hi all,

D-Tree to the rescue....!

1) The Valentine Brothers (1982)

2) O'Chi Brown (1985) - This track is also produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman, but at that time they called themselves: Waterman, Stock and Aitken! Still a horrible song, but O'chi definately looks better than Rick!!!

3) The infamous Vanity. The group was Vanity 6 (although they were only 3?!?)

4) Arrh, this one was a little tricky....but eventually...Willie Colon

5) Stand By Me (1986) - a cover of the Ben E. King song.

That's it - K-Bee, let's have quiz #4

See ya.
