Is this thread "best horror movie" or "horrer of a movie"? ;) :p - For the latter Howard The Duck is a definete contender.

the 80s were really the decade of the teen slasher flicks: Elm street series, friday the 13th series and even forgotten"classics" such as "Happy Birth Day To Me", "Graduation Day" and "April Fools"- u name 'em. Sadly none of them are very good seen in retrospect (IMHO).
Since I like my horror movies with a certain psyckological twist, I'd say one of the best ones of the 80s is definetely "The Shining" (1980)...good cast, some genuin shocks and of course....REDRUM!!!!

The Shining gets my vote! Jack Nicholson scared the crap out of me in that movie!

All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy

The Shining (1980) is absolutely one of the best movies of all-time....and of course, it was written by Stephen King.

For me it's gotta be "Nightmare on Elm St" all though if we were talking my favourite horror of all times it would be "Dawn of the Dead".

Howard the Duck was a cool movie!! :p

The movie "Return of the Living Dead(1985)" really freaked me up, not the movie itself, the fact that at the beginning of the credits there where something like this "All names characters and events displayed in this movie are real" not ficticius, someone remember this?

This may look silly but i was 10 when i saw that movie hehe
