All-female band formed in 1979 by producer/drummer Bernadette Cooper, guitarist Cheryl Cooley and keyboard player Lynn Malsby. The original lead vocalists were Lorena Porter Shelby and Joyce "Fenderella" Irby, who later left for a solo career. ...And of course "I Miss You" featured former Shalamar singer Howard Hewitt on background vocals.
Klymaxx is an underrated band really. They were capable of doing a wide range of r&b styles from the old school funky "Never Underestimate The Power of A Woman" to the electro sounding "The Men All Pause" and even tried their hands at some quality mid tempo soul with "Divas Need Love To"

Bernadette Cooper also did production work outside Klymaxx. The all female trio Madam X (self titled album for Atlantic in 1987) comes to mind.
