Now these guys were the real stars of 80s music (to me at least)
So...let's have a poll on the subject. Who's your favorite remixer of the decade. Cast your votes!! :)

I voted for the great Larry Levan myself. That guy was hugely influencial and his remixes for Prelude/West End still holds up today! :)

I vote other..gotta cast it to my teacher and insperation to who made me be able to do what I can do today...the one and only Bobby Viteritti. In the early 80s he was crankin out promo only remixes for Disconet and Hot Tracks so..counts as 80s. Otherwise id vote for Shep for mid to end of 80s.

LOL I had no idea Viteritti did remixes too. He probably said so in the interwiew you did with him back in the Extravaganza days but I always forget things :(

Well in that interview I did with Bobby in those days (damn, seems like were talkin years ago when in fact its only been about a year..feels like it though), I dont think anything about his remixes came up..but again I havent actualy listened to the show since I did the final editing for the broadcast which was before all of you heard it LOL. A few of Bobby's most famous and remembered remixes are "Magnifique" by Magnifique from 1979/80 and a colaberation remix by Bobby and Patrick Cowley in 1980 of Lipps Inc "Funkytown". Magnifique was on Disconet and Funkytown was on Hot Tracks.
